What are degrees?
Well, on HEAT, degrees are money. If you have enough degrees, you can purchase something from Chips & Bits with them. The current conversion rate of degrees is 5,000 degrees = $1 US. So, if you wanted to buy something that was $50, you'd need $250,000 degrees plus an extra amount to cover shipping charges. Yes, you can cover 100% of your charges with degrees, but only if you're premium. Let me repeat that: You can only cover 100% of your charges if you're a premium member.

How can perimeter members buy something with their degrees?
Perimeter members can't cover 100% of the cost with degres, but they can still use their degrees to get a discount. If you are perimeter, you can cover 10% of the cost of whatever you're buying (including shipping) with degrees. So, again, if you were buying something that was $50 (before adding shipping charges) then you could cover $5 with degrees and your credit card would be charged with the $45. Again, this does not include shipping charges. But, to my knowledge, the 10% is taken off of the total of your orders. That price includes shipping.

How can I earn degrees?
Degrees can be had through many ways. You can get 100 for just logging in to HEAT. You also get 250 degrees for every hour you are on HEAT. And, if you log in and play a lot, you can get degrees as monthly awards. This includes 5000 degrees for 15 days of playing, and 10000 for every day of the month. You can also earn degrees through raids, which are competitive games in which the winner will receive the highest amount of degrees and the others may get something as well. There are also many other ways to earn degrees. Just look around the HEAT site and you'll find tons of contests and other cool stuff that'll get you hooked up with some $$$.
